SFTD broadcast is 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and is based on a repetitive audiovisual cycle with different content.

Technically, this is done in the form of a playlist that contained video files.

We have three types of video files:

  • HUB
  • LEVELS
  • TAPES

Playlist playing in an endless loop, but with the condition that there are type of files (LEVELS and TAPES) that change with the passage of the loop, and there are files (HUB) those that remain unchanged.

They are played according to the following scheme:

► HUB ► LEVEL01 ► HUB ► TAPE01 ► ► HUB ► LEVEL02 ► HUB ► TAPE02 ► ► HUB ► LEVEL03 ► HUB ► TAPE03 ► and so on…in endless loop

Video files are uploaded to the broadcast server in .mov/.mp4 format. Encoding and transmitting to the streaming platform realized by using OBS software.

Administration of WETDREAMSEXCITER takes full responsibility for 24-hour server operation and broadcasting support.

Sequence shows the passage of the Signal through the loop of the currently existing levels of the world of Megastructure. In the future, the loop may change with the appearance of new plot branches in the lore of Signal of the Deep.

MAIN SEQUENCE VER.02
// LOOP START

The point at which the signal arises, as well as the beginning of the loop. The Signal appears in the space of NetSphere, after another pass of the loop, and continues to move deep into the Megasctructure in search of information.

The level is fully made in Unreal Engine 4 with the help of various DCC software.

Level type – 3D Render

Level Duration – 10 minutes

Constantly changing levels of Megastructure. Each time, flying out of the space of NetSphere, the signal follows new paths and studies various complexes of the Megastructure.

Levels are created using different 3D software (UE4, Unity, Blender, Maya etc.).

Level type – 3D Render

Level duration ~ 30 minutes

CCR Terminal HUB – in the vastness of the Megastructure, the signal sooner or later finds the room where the Collective Consciousness Repository terminal is located. When he finds it, the signal connect to the database.

The level is created using different 3D software (UE4 or Unity, Blender, Maya etc.).

Level type – 3D Render

Level duration – 10 minutesMemory DB Tape – by connecting to the terminal the signal explores fragments of human memories and to determine who they were. Viewing a tape causes a loopback error in the signal`s code which returns it in the NetSphere HUB. The loop starts over.

The level can consist of any audiovisual content relevant to the style of the project.

Level type – Visual art

Level duration – 10 minutes

MAIN SEQUENCE VER.02
// LOOP END (and start over)

Based on the technical and artistic characteristics of the broadcast, we defined three patterns of collaborations between artists inside the project Signal from the Deep.

At the moment, this guide is only relevant for Discord users.

Pattern #1: CG Art

If you are creating 3D content and have the skills to deal with DCC software, (Maya, Blender, Substance Painter/Designer, UE4, Unity etc.) you can join the process of development Megastructure Levels.

This pattern is fully deterministic – once you get the role, you will have access to a channels where the level develop pipeline is fully described, reference maps for level geometry/design/aesthetics are attached and there is a channels for development chat.

Once you have defined this pattern, you can request a role: @CG Artist

You can take full control of the creating of a separate level or take part in the development with the main team. Otherwise, we can leave information about your skills in collab-board so that other users can contact you for advice, help or collaboration

Pattern #2: Visual Art

If you are create visual art or 3D content, be it video or static images, you can join the process of creating tapes for Memory Database.

This pattern is completely non-deterministic – you have absolute freedom of choice and action in content creation, because you create a database of human memories, and this can be anything. Once you get the role, you will have access to a channels where describe the process of collaboration between artists in this category and a collab-board where you can leave information about your work and skills so that other users can ask you for advice, help or suggestions for collaboration.

Once you have defined this pattern, you can request a role: @Visual Artists

You can create tapes entirely by yourself or collaborate with other users. You can create tape and ask users with the role Musician to write music for your work.

Pattern #3: Music

If you are a musician or producer, your music can be used in collaboration with Visual Artist and/or 3D Artist.

This pattern is completely non-deterministic – you can write music or offer ready-made compositions for Memory Database Tapes, thus collaborating with Visual Artists. You can also make sound design (as well as music) for Megastructure Levels in collaboration with CG Artists.

Once you have defined this pattern, you can request a role: @Musical Artist

The stylistic foundations of the SFTD project are spinning into the circle of experimental and avant-garde music genres: ambient, sonorism, hypnagogic, intervapeur, downtempo, dreampunk, noise, drone etc.

You can upload your music to collab-board so that other users can use it. You can send requests to Visual Artists so that they can make a visuals for your music.

At the moment, this guide is only relevant for Discord users.

Define one or several patterns of collaboration for yourself, you should send a request to @f00br format:

- [Role Title]
- [Link to your work]
- [Info about you skills]
- [Information on your activities] (optional)

Please note that the SFTD project has a certain aesthetic framework on which we rely to appreciate the artistic importance of your work.

Based on this, we moderate the process of assigning a role.

If your works is relevant to the style of the Signal from the Deep project, you will be assigned a role and get up to speed. If not, the administrator will reply with a rejection.

Thank you for your understanding.
